OCP’s Employees of Choice are individuals who exemplify the qualities and characteristics that have made our 50 years of success possible. Employees of Choice are employees in the field and office who lead by action to advance safety, productivity, and innovation on projects. Additionally, these employees are consistent, dependable, and contribute to the betterment of the team. Thanks to the hard work of these individuals, OCP has proudly become the interior Contractor of Choice.

Jose Barajas

  • Position: Carpenter
  • Length of Employment with OCP: 2 Years
  • Training: OSHA 30, Swing Stage, LG

“Jose has a lot of good qualities. He shows up to work on time and ready for work. Jose is not afraid to jump in on any task given or ask questions about the tasks he is working on.   • What is your favorite aspect of your position?
  • Learning new techniques and working with my hands.
  • What do you enjoy most about OCP?
  • Everyone is very friendly and helpful.
  • Who inspires you?
  • My dad, he always told me that if you want something that you have to work extra hard for it.
  • What made you select OCP as your employer?
  • The opportunity and culture makes me a better person both on the job and off.

Kyle Brubaker

  • Position: Foreman

  • Training: OSHA 30, STSC Certified

  • What brought you to the construction industry and what made you stay?
  • I come from a family of carpenters. I was fortunate enough to learn this trade from my father. I continue to stay because I enjoy the challenges of each task at hand.
  • What hobbies do you have outside of work?

  • I enjoy hunting, fishing and spending time with my family.
  • What advice would you give to new employees?
  • Show up on time, be eager to learn and a little hard work goes a long way.

Steven Rice

  • Position: Painter
  • Industry Tenure: 19 Years
  • Length of Employment with OCP: 6 Years
  • Training: Safety App, Industry App, Respiratory Fit Test

Steve is truly a talented and highly productive painter. From spraying dry fall on roof decks to cutting into ceiling grid he always looking for ways to cut out the waste. He is a master of his trade and great to have on the OCP team. Thanks Steve for all the hard work - Chris Gunderman, General Superintendent, Toledo

  • What brought you to the construction industry and what made you stay?
  • My neighbor was a superintendent for a construction company, and I helped him a lot. I really enjoyed the work and stayed in the business.

  • Who inspires you?

  • My children drive me to be a better man for them. I take pride in being able to provide for my children.
  • What do you value most about OCP?
  • OCP is always professional and easy to work for. OCP supports me on the worksite. OCP also strives for safety at a higher level in comparison to other places.
