Thomas Bouch and Rich Nowotka Sr.

OCP’s Employees of Choice are individuals who exemplify the qualities and characteristics that have made our 50 years of success possible. Employees of Choice are employees in the field and office who lead by action to advance safety, productivity, and innovation on projects. Additionally, these employees are consistent, dependable, and contribute for the betterment of the team. Thanks to the hard work of these individuals, OCP has proudly become the interior Contractor of Choice.

Thomas Bouch

  • Position: Journeyman Carpenter
  • Length of Employment with OCP: 4 Years

"Tom has worked on the Summa Tower carpentry crew for the past 8 months and has filled a very important role. He installed most of the Nurse’s Stations that required difficult fitting and seaming of Corian solid surface tops. Tom has a great attitude, eagerness to take on a challenge and craftsmanship that was required on this project." - Tom Hughes, Cleveland Foreman

  • What would you tell someone else considering joining the industry?
  • It is rewarding, and exciting getting to complete projects that are unique that you have never done before.
  • What is your favorite part of your job?
  • I enjoy challenging projects such as installing the nursing stations within the Summa project in Akron.
  • What is your favorite project that you have worked on?
  • I built a box for my car, and customized it. The project took a year. I utilize it on the job, it holds every tool you can think of.

Rich Nowotka Sr.

  • Position: Drywall Finisher Foreman
  • Industry Tenure: 25 Years
  • Length of Employment with OCP: 35 Years

"Rich is a very valued employee at OCP. There have been times when Rich has been involved with fast pace and out of the ordinary jobs and he always goes into the situation professionally and with a positive attitude. His jobs always meet the deadline and the quality that is expected from OCP.

  • What would you tell another person interested in joining the industry?
  • It is a great way to make a living with health benefits, without the burden of student loans. Here you are able to get all of your training on the job with a pension. Additionally, you are able to see the completion of major jobs.
  • What has been the highlight of your career in construction?
  • The satisfaction of being a leader and being a friend to the guys I work with.
  • What advice would you give a new employee that just joined OCP?
  • Make sure you get to work on time and work as hard as you can with the best of your ability. Treat others the way you would want to be treated.
  • What do you enjoy outside of work?
  • I enjoy boating, camping and golfing. I like to golf a lot. I think OCP has been great. I have been here for 25 years and I probably have another 12 years since I just bought a new boat!
