What is your favorite aspect of the job?

My favorite aspect of working here at OCP and being a carpenter is being able to walk away after you build something, and feeling accomplished when looking back at it, I'm consistently proud of the finished project.

What would you tell someone getting in to the industry now?

Be open to everything and be willing to learn because there are multiple ways to complete work, just find out what works best for yourself.

What has been the highlight of your career in construction?

Being able to come to work every day for a good company and have insurance and pension and at the end of the day go home safe.

What brought you to the construction industry and what made you stay?

I came to the construction industry because I was young and I needed a job and I was just starting a family. Painting was a way to get a good pay and benefits. So, I just went ahead and started and I liked it so much with the division that I stayed with it.

I will tell them to show up on time every day, be clean cut and drug free and work hard every day.

What is your favorite aspect of your job?

To work with new employees and apprentices to teach and train them about the success of our careers.

You have been nominated for employee of the month. What do you have to say about that?

It’s pretty exciting that the office people actually go out of the way to realize what employees do for them and to nominate us. So, I think it’s pretty awesome.

What do you value most about OCP?

Working with the superintendents that have been in the field and have been in our shoes to understand the problems we have and help us resolve them.
