OCP’s Employees of Choice are individuals who exemplify the qualities and characteristics that have made our 50 years of success possible. Employees of Choice are employees in the field and office who lead by action to advance safety, productivity, and innovation on projects. Additionally, these employees are consistent, dependable, and contribute for the betterment of the team. Thanks to the hard work of these individuals, OCP has proudly become the interior Contractor of Choice.

Troy Holliday

  • Position: Journeyman Carpenter
  • Industry Tenure: 32 Years
  • Length of Employment with OCP: 30 Years

"Troy is an all around great person, one of our best carpenters here at OCP. He is hardworking, reliable, and always comes to work with a positive attitude. I know when Troy comes to work at one of my jobs that we are going to knock out big projects quickly and efficiently. Thank you for all you do, Troy." - Zach Krout, Toledo Foreman

  • What brought you to the construction industry and what made you stay?
  • My father brought me to the industry and I stayed because I like to work with my hands and build things.
  • What is your favorite project you have worked on?
  • Owens Corning Fiberglass, I worked with a lot of great individuals that are now retired and missed.

Jeff Clelland

  • Position: Drywall Finisher Foreman
  • Industry Tenure: 9 Years
  • Length of Employment with OCP: 9 Years

"Jeff’s hard work, dedication and great communication skills have all led to him being promoted to drywall finisher foreman within two years after completing his apprenticeship. Jeff has successfully run crews on a few of our largest jobs including the Garfield Building, Centric Apartments, Avon Bed Tower, and is currently running the finishing crew at the Terminal Tower project. Jeff’s consistent positive attitude makes him a pleasure to work with for everyone on the job." - Jason VanDevender, Cleveland Superintendent

  • What is your favorite aspect of your job?
  • The fact that I can put forth a good effort and see a finished product.
  • What brought you to the construction industry and what made you stay?
  • What brought me in was needing money for college, so I convinced my Dad to get me a job in order to save up, I ended up liking it so much that I stayed.
  • What hobbies do you have outside of work?
  • I am a drummer and have played since I was nine. And I have a couple of German Shepherds that I take out on hikes a lot.

Derrick Newmeyer

  • Position: 2nd Year Apprentice
  • Industry Tenure: 1.5 Years
  • Length of Employment with OCP: 1.5 Years

  • What is your favorite aspect of your job?
  • Getting to learn how to complete new projects that come up, problem-solving and taking a project to completion.
  • Who inspires you?
  • Luke Smith, he runs a tight job and is always really organized in everything he does. What needs to be done is laid out and expected, its always a well-run operation.
  • What do you value most about OCP?
  • They practice what they preach and put safety at a high priority. The organization honestly cares about our safety and everyone getting home.
